Job Summary
The Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich is offering a natural science doctoral position starting January 1, 2026, within the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center TRR 205, focusing on the adrenal gland. This role is situated at the Walther-Straub Institute for Pharmacology and Toxicology and aims to precisely investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying primary hyperaldosteronism within the reno-cardiovascular system. The successful candidate will utilize various cell models to identify disease-relevant signaling pathways and explore potential new therapeutic targets. Day-to-day work involves applying a broad spectrum of advanced techniques, including Patch-Clamp electrophysiology, Laser-Scanning Microscopy, FRET, Calcium Imaging, FRAP, and TIRF, complemented by molecular and cell biology methods. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree or very good State Examination in Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Biomedicine, or a related natural science field
Experience
- Demonstrated interest in cell physiological and endocrinological questions
- Enthusiasm for working with advanced experimental techniques (listed above)
- Professional experience in molecular biology, cell biology, and protein biochemistry (advantageous)
