PhD Candidate in Molecular Microbiology | Biologe (m/w/d)
Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg
Job Summary
This PhD Candidate position focuses on cutting-edge research within the Institute of Molecular Infection Biology (IMIB) at the University of Würzburg, supported by the DFG priority program SPP2474. The successful candidate will join the laboratories of Professors Faber and Vogel to investigate specialized metabolites, their genetic regulation, and their functions during gut microbial interactions, specifically focusing on the bacterium Fusobacterium nucleatum. This work contributes to the discovery of new gene functions within the human microbiome. The role involves interdisciplinary collaboration within a highly respected research environment, including connections to the local Research Center for Infectious Diseases (ZINF). Applicants must hold an equivalent of a Master’s degree and possess a strong academic background in molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or computational science. This is a crucial opportunity for early-career researchers to contribute significantly to microbial pathogenesis and host-microbe interaction studies.
