Job Summary

This is a leadership role, fixed-term for four years, focused on accelerating planning processes for climate adaptation using Urban Digital Twins within the Federal Funding Program in Bad Berleburg. The Project Lead will manage the development, testing, and sustainment of a digital twin in collaboration with a consortium of partners (including universities and SMEs). Key responsibilities include guiding cross-departmental construction planning processes related to climate adaptation, analyzing existing data structures, and developing recommendations for Geodata collection and management. The role requires a degree in Geoinformatics, Urban Planning, or a related field, along with fundamental knowledge of GIS, Geodatabases, and data management. The successful candidate must possess strong communication and analytical skills to facilitate knowledge transfer, organize workshops, and support municipal departments in leveraging the digital twin for decision-making regarding sustainable urban development.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree in Geoinformatics, Geography, Urban Planning, Environmental Sciences, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Experience in project execution
  • Experience in conducting (citizen) participation processes
  • Professional knowledge in GIS, Geodatabases, and Data Management is required
  • Experience in setting up data structures or Digital Twins (advantageous)
