Job Summary

This role involves leading the 'Technical Building Equipment' division within the High-Rise and Civil Engineering Office for the Mettmann district, overseeing the technical management of 85 public buildings (approx. 200,000 sqm). The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the overall planning and coordination of technical areas including sanitary, heating, ventilation/air conditioning, electrical systems, building automation, and renewable energy for all new construction, renovation, and modernization projects. Key responsibilities include acting as the client representative, managing tender and award procedures (HOAI, VOB), controlling project costs, and ensuring operational responsibility. Candidates must possess a degree in relevant engineering fields (e.g., Supply Technology or Electrical Engineering) and demonstrate strong leadership skills, technical competence in regulatory frameworks (DIN, VDE norms), and proficiency in relevant software, ensuring the efficient and sustainable operation of the district's extensive property portfolio.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed university degree (FH or TU/TH, Bachelor or Master) in Supply Technology, Electrical Engineering, Energy and Building Technology, or potentially Mechanical or Plant Engineering with relevant expertise.

Experience

  • Several years of professional, construction management, and project leadership experience
  • Professional knowledge of relevant technical regulations and their application (Building Code, Technical Regulations and Guidelines)
  • Experience in procurement and contract procedures (HOAI, VOB)
  • Experience in cooperative and goal-oriented team leadership
  • Knowledge of CAFM software is desirable
