This role is ideal for PhD graduates and research-focused professionals looking to bridge the gap between academia and industry within SAP's Research & Innovation unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategic research collaborations, advising Line of Businesses (LoBs) on complex research challenges, and developing prototypes and new features based on the latest academic findings. Key activities include applying cutting-edge research results, publishing academic papers, supervising theses, and fostering strong university partnerships. The position requires deep domain expertise in areas like AI, data management, or cloud computing, coupled with strong programming and analytical skills. Required Skills
Education
Very good Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (at least a submitted PhD thesis is required)
Experience
- Deep domain expertise in at least two priority topics (AI, data management, cloud computing, etc.)
- Professional experience working on the interface between academia and industry
- Experience in conceptual work and software engineering
