This role offers an 8-month opportunity for a Master's student or recent graduate in Physics or Electrical Engineering to contribute to cutting-edge research in power semiconductor reliability at KAI, a subsidiary of Infineon. The primary focus is on the testing and characterization of Medium Voltage Gallium Nitride (MV GaN) High Electron Mobility Transistors (HEMTs). Daily tasks involve measuring the electrical properties of these devices pre- and post-degradation from switching loads, evaluating the effects of various passivations and surface treatments, and performing detailed data analysis to identify trends and anomalies. A key project involves expanding the existing measurement setup to utilize specialized floating-field-plate structures for charge carrier trapping determination. This position is ideal for candidates seeking real-world impact in automotive and industrial electronics, offering full support for completing a Master's thesis while gaining valuable R&D experience in a highly technical, international team environment.
