Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity for a Master's student in Physics, Materials Science, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering to contribute significantly to cutting-edge semiconductor research focusing on the thermo-mechanical fatigue of Cu power metallization. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing a new power switching setup into the existing fatigue test system using LabVIEW and Python programming. Day-to-day tasks involve system development, optimizing a Python-based evaluation workflow for processing time-resolved synchrotron X-ray diffraction data, and conducting detailed analysis via Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). This position is structured around writing and submitting a Master's thesis in cooperation with a university, requiring strong problem-solving skills, a hands-on mentality, and the ability to work effectively within an international team. Fluency in English and/or German is required to succeed in this temporary, full-time research role.

Required Skills

Education

Pursuing a Master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering; Must have finished study exams and be ready to start thesis work.

Experience
