Physics Intern/Trainee (Microstructure Simulation) | Physiker/in
Infineon Technologies Austria AG
Job Summary
This role is ideal for a motivated student, intern, or trainee in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field, focusing on creating and automating a workflow for generating and meshing artificially created microstructures from experimental data. Day-to-day tasks involve analyzing Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) and 3D data, extracting microstructural parameters using MTEX, inputting these descriptors into a microstructure generator (neper.info), and automating the geometry meshing process within COMSOL Multiphysics using Java. The position requires strong technical skills in MATLAB (MTEX) and Java, an interest in coding and structured data, and culminates in documenting results and preparing a Master's Thesis. This temporary, full-time position offers real project impact within an international team, making it an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in advanced materials simulation and data analysis.
