Job Summary

This Senior Specialist Planner role focuses on driving the modernization and digitalization of German rail transport, specifically within Rail Control and Safety Technology (RCS) across Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical conception, implementation, and quality assurance of complex planning projects involving Electronic Interlocking Systems (ESTW/DSTW), European Train Control System (ETCS), Train Numbering Systems (ZN), Train Routing (ZL), and Level Crossing Safety Systems (BÜSA). Day-to-day activities include acting as a key technical contact for clients, analyzing complex operational requirements, and translating them into innovative, high-quality, and practical solutions. This position requires utilizing digital planning approaches within hybrid teams, ensuring seamless project execution from digital surveying and planning through to final commissioning, contributing actively to future-oriented rail industry solutions.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Rail Control and Safety Technology, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field with an electrical focus; 'Specialist Planner LST' Certificate from Deutsche Bahn AG required.

Experience

  • Long-term professional experience as a PT1 Specialist Planner
  • Expertise in rail control and safety technology and relevant Deutsche Bahn AG guidelines
  • Experience acting as a Quality Auditor or Authorized Construction Submitter (BVB)
