Job Summary

The Government of Lower Franconia is seeking a highly engaged Scientist or Engineer to join the Technical Environmental Protection department. This crucial, permanent full-time role focuses on enforcing immission control laws (Immissionsschutzrecht) and actively supporting the energy transition in Lower Franconia. Day-to-day responsibilities involve executing environmental protection regulations, providing expert support to district administrative authorities on immission control matters, and contributing to the expansion of renewable energies (wind, solar, hydrogen) and necessary grid adjustments. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in a relevant technical or natural science field (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Renewable Energies, Chemistry) and possesses strong expertise in technical environmental protection, particularly in air pollution control, noise protection, and non-ionizing radiation safety. Success in this role requires excellent teamwork, negotiation skills, a structured work approach, and the readiness for frequent, physically demanding fieldwork in all weather conditions.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical or natural science university degree (Master's or equivalent Diploma), e.g., Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Energy Technology, Renewable Energies, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, or Physics.

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical environmental protection, especially in immission control and protection against non-ionizing radiation (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of relevant legal regulations (advantageous)
  • Readiness for fieldwork and external assignments
