Job Summary
The Director of Operational Excellence will be responsible for establishing and leading the Operational Excellence department within Steeltec, a key production company of the global Swiss Steel Group. Your primary objective is the sustainable increase of efficiency across all production processes. This involves developing and implementing key improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Management, and Continuous Improvement Process (KVP). You will develop metrics for measuring production efficiency and provide direct operational support to the COO in executing strategic initiatives. This highly visible role requires coaching and mentoring Green Belt employees, acting as a sparring partner for production managers, and ensuring the successful execution of improvement projects, making a significant contribution to shaping the future of sustainable steel production.
Required Skills
Education
Technical University Degree (or equivalent) and Six Sigma Black Belt certification (or higher)
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in the production sector (ideally in metal processing)
- Demonstrated success in implementing Six Sigma projects
- Experience in cascading corporate objectives to the departmental level
- Proficiency in handling production-specific key performance indicators

- Must possess excellent communication skills and be adept at interacting with different hierarchical levels, acting as a coach and mentor for improvement project teams.
