Job Summary
This is a compelling opportunity for a motivated Scientist to join the Institute of Virology at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) on a fixed-term, part-time (65%) contract, with the potential to pursue a PhD. The core focus of the role involves advanced virological research, specifically studying virus-host interactions and innate immunity related to viral pathogens found in saliva. Day-to-day responsibilities include establishing and maintaining epithelial cell cultures and organoids, meticulously planning and executing infection experiments, and utilizing advanced diagnostic techniques such as RT-qPCR and immunofluorescence imaging. A crucial output of this position is the preparation and submission of scientific publications. Candidates must possess a completed degree in Veterinary Medicine (with a license) or a Master's in Biology or a comparable natural science field, demonstrating strong motivation for scientific work, excellent organizational abilities, and high social competence for effective teamwork.
