Job Summary
This role is an exciting opportunity for a System Engineer to join a top international conglomerate, thyssenkrupp, in Kiel, focusing on naval shipbuilding. The core responsibilities include the technical evaluation and system integration of reconnaissance systems (periscope/optronics, radar, electronic warfare) and their antenna systems for naval vessels. Day-to-day tasks involve analyzing technical specifications from suppliers, developing guidelines for antenna and component design, and conducting EMC and system compatibility analyses to ensure interoperability of complex electronic systems. The successful candidate will also support interface coordination, create technical specifications and project management plans, and oversee commissioning and acceptance tests onboard ships. Key qualifications include a technical degree in fields like communications engineering or electrical engineering, coupled with professional experience in reconnaissance system design or relevant military background, and a strong systems-thinking approach.

Education
Completed technical degree, preferably in Communications and Information Technology, High-Frequency Technology, or Electrical Engineering, or comparable technical training
Experience
- Professional experience in the design of reconnaissance systems or training in the operational/tactical area of the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces)
- Initial experience in project work
- Good technical understanding, ideally from naval or shipyard activities
