Job Summary
This critical role as the EU and External Funding Coordinator at the highly international Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter (MPSD) involves serving as the central interface for all third-party funded projects. The coordinator will manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and grant application support (for EU, DFG, and Federal programs) through to successful completion. Core daily activities include advising researchers, ensuring quality assurance of application documents, developing efficient administrative workflows, and performing financial controlling and reporting. You will also be responsible for supporting personnel-related processes and managing Fellows. Candidates must possess a university degree (Master/Diploma) in a relevant field (Science, Administration, Law, or Economics), strong knowledge of budget and financial processes, and excellent intercultural communication skills. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Master/Diploma) in Natural Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Law, or Economics.
Experience
- First experience in third-party funding or research management (advantageous)
- Knowledge of national and European funding programs, especially EU formats (ideal)
- Professional experience in budget and financial processes and handling grants
