Job Summary
This role is a critical operational and technical laboratory position focusing on chemical synthesis, particularly within Nucleotide and Nucleic Acid Chemistry. The R&D Technician will be responsible for executing chemical syntheses to produce complex molecular structures, performing established synthesis productions, and handling the isolation and purification of chemical molecules, specifically using techniques like RP-HPLC and IEX. Daily tasks include utilizing advanced chemical and physical methods (e.g., HPLC, LC-MS, UV-Vis) for product characterization and in-process monitoring, alongside general departmental duties such as equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate holds a qualification as a Chemical Laboratory Assistant or Chemical Technician and possesses strong expertise in organic chemistry, purification methods, and nucleic acid chemistry, ensuring adherence to strict safety and quality management guidelines. This is a full-time, permanent position offering long-term job security within a major corporate structure.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Assistant, Chemical Technician, BTA (Biomedical Technical Assistant), MTA (Medical Technical Assistant), or comparable relevant technical qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in the field of organic chemistry (preferred)
- Expertise and experience in the purification of nucleotides via RP-HPLC and IEX (ideal)
- Good knowledge of nucleic acid chemistry
