Job Summary
This role involves serving as a Geoinformation Specialist within the Odenwald district administration, focusing on the efficient, transparent, and future-oriented use of geodata. The Specialist will be responsible for implementing the European INSPIRE Directive, which includes preparing, planning, and executing legal obligations related to building and operating Geodata Infrastructures (GDI). Day-to-day tasks include project management for geodata initiatives, refining and preparing data for administrative procedures, and providing technical application support (FAB) for the Geographic Information System (GIS), utilizing ESRI and VertiGIS technologies. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in GIS systems, surveying, geodata management, and project execution, particularly in E-Government and Open Data projects, actively contributing to the digital advancement of the administration. This is an attractive, unlimited, full-time hybrid position offering competitive compensation up to EG 11 TVöD.
Required Skills
Education
Completed Bachelor's degree in Geoinformatics or equivalent, OR completed vocational training as a Geoinformatics Specialist, OR completed training as a Technician, Master Craftsman, Surveying Technician, Geomatician, or Draftsperson, OR Administrative Employee with relevant IT affinity and interest in geodata.
Experience
- Professional experience in GIS or surveying (required for certain educational backgrounds)
- Minimum three years of professional experience in GIS or surveying (for Technicians, Surveying Technicians, Geomaticians, or Draftspersons)
- Three years of professional experience in comparable technical administrative tasks (for Administrative Employees)
- Comprehensive experience in project management
- Successful implementation of E-Government, Open Data, and GIS projects
