Job Summary
The City Administration of Heusenstamm is seeking an engaged and technically proficient professional with strategic thinking capabilities to lead the Department of Civil Engineering and Infrastructure, starting January 1, 2026. This full-time, permanent leadership role involves managing key public infrastructure areas, including road systems, sewage, and water supply. Day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring a high-performing and safe public infrastructure, overseeing project-related planning, tendering, and awarding of construction contracts, and managing the department's budget and financial responsibilities. The successful candidate will also handle inquiries from political bodies and citizens, present projects in committee meetings, and coordinate with other departments and engineering firms. Key requirements include a relevant Bachelor's degree (Civil Engineering, Environmental Technology, or similar), at least five years of professional experience in civil engineering or water/wastewater management, and proven multi-year leadership experience. The position offers a responsible and varied leadership role within a modern city administration and is compensated according to EG 13 TVöD-VKA.

Experience
- Minimum five years of professional experience in civil engineering, water supply, or wastewater treatment

Additional
- Must possess specific technical knowledge regarding the German Self-Monitoring Ordinance (EKVO), particularly concerning wastewater systems, channels, and sewage treatment plants. Must have strong organizational and communication skills for interaction with political bodies and citizens.
