Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity for a highly qualified Process Engineer to lead optimization and development at the world's first Ash2Phos phosphorus recycling plant, currently under construction in Schkopau, Saxony-Anhalt. The facility utilizes groundbreaking technology to sustainably recover raw materials from sewage sludge incineration ash. Day-to-day responsibilities include participating in the commissioning and ramp-up of the new facility, optimizing production processes for efficiency, quality, and safety, and creating and maintaining operational instructions. The engineer will act as a critical interface, collaborating closely with local production, maintenance, and quality teams, as well as the engineering partner (EasyMining). Key tasks involve troubleshooting complex production disturbances, leading continuous improvement projects, and analyzing process data to derive actionable measures. Candidates must possess a degree in Chemistry or Process Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification, coupled with a high technical understanding and ideally initial experience in plant operation within the chemical or manufacturing sector. This position offers the chance to be a key part of the Plant Management Team, driving the transition towards a sustainable circular economy.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Chemistry, Process Engineering, or equivalent; alternatively, certified Chemical Technician or Industrial Master Chemistry qualification
Experience
- Initial experience in plant operation or optimization (preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry)
- Professional experience in analyzing and resolving disturbances in new process plants, even with limited operational data
- Experience contributing to the setup and commissioning of new production facilities
