Job Summary
The Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) in Mainz, Germany, is seeking a motivated Data Manager to cover a parental leave, initially for one year. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with existing data governance processes, policies, and regulatory obligations within a cutting-edge research environment focused on epigenetics, DNA repair, and developmental biology. Day-to-day responsibilities include administering the FAIRDOM-SEEK research data sharing platform, assisting researchers in meeting data management guidelines (DFG, EU), and performing quality control on datasets for repository submission. The Data Manager will also handle data access requests, manage associated legal processes, and educate staff on best practices for research data management and integrity. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in a relevant scientific or computational field, possesses experience with big data and data repositories, and demonstrates excellent English communication skills, thriving in a diverse and international setting.
Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in bioinformatics, computational biology, biological science, computer science, or other relevant fields. PhD degree is possible but not required.
