Job Summary

As a Principal Scientist in Analytical Development, you will be a key contributor to Elanco’s Technical Development organization, focusing on the analytical development of animal health products. Your daily responsibilities will include developing and validating analytical and dissolution methods, interpreting complex data, and preparing scientific reports and publications. You will play a crucial role in preparing international registration documents and engaging with global health authorities, ensuring compliance with GxP and regulatory standards. This position is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in pharmaceutical analytics, particularly in dissolution control strategies and small molecule development, who is eager to drive the implementation of new technologies and mentor emerging talent within a dynamic, international team.

Required Skills

Education

PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field. Master's or Bachelor's degree in a related field with extensive experience also accepted.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years in pharmaceutical development (preferably analytics) with a PhD
  • Minimum of 12 years in the pharmaceutical industry with an M.S.
  • Minimum of 16 years in the pharmaceutical industry with a B.S.
  • Strong expertise in chromatographic (HPLC/UPLC) and spectroscopic (UV/VIS) method development
  • Recognized expertise in dissolution, particularly with USP Apparatus II (Paddles) and IV (Flow Cell)
  • Demonstrated track record of interactions with regulatory agencies on analytical topics
  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., GMP)
  • Experience in analytical method development outside of dissolution
