Job Summary
The IT Project Manager will be instrumental in achieving the ambitious digitalization goals set by the Weilheim-Schongau District Office and its county schools. This full-time role involves the introduction and optimization of digital systems, including hardware and software, and processes across a modern IT network supporting over 1000 workstations across multiple locations. Key daily tasks include leading project management for IT infrastructure, digitalization initiatives, and media technology, particularly within the school system, alongside developing strategies to optimize overall IT operations and providing necessary IT support and training. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or a relevant vocational qualification, coupled with strong knowledge of Microsoft products, server virtualization, and an understanding of emerging technologies like AI and RPA. This is a highly responsible and varied position offering flexible working hours, mobile work options, and a supportive, modern professional environment.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Computer Science, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, or comparable technical field (Dipl., B.Sc., or M.A.); OR Vocational training in Data Processing/Communication Technology (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration, IT System Electronics Technician); OR Relevant professional examination (e.g., Administrative Information Scientist BVS)
Experience
- Professional experience in data processing or communication technology equivalent to a relevant degree or vocational qualification
- Experience in the operation and management of virtual servers and desktop workplaces
- Practical understanding of digitalization strategies and framework conditions within public administration
