Job Summary
This role involves crucial responsibility for the planning, implementation, and administration of the university's firewall infrastructure and overall network security architecture. The specialist will manage security policies and access controls using tools like CISCO ISE (Identity Services Engine) and Next-Generation Firewalls. Key tasks include monitoring the network infrastructure for potential threats and vulnerabilities, supporting the university-wide LAN, WLAN, and Datacenter network, and actively participating in internal IT projects such as network segmentation and 802.1x implementation. Candidates must possess a completed or near-completion IT education and strong knowledge of system administration, networking technologies (Cisco solutions preferred), and common operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS). Required Skills
Education
Completed IT education (Technical College, University of Applied Sciences, or University) or near completion of a relevant qualification.
Experience
- Experience with Next-Generation Firewalls (ideally Fortinet)
- Experience with Network Access Control (e.g., Cisco ISE)
- Good knowledge of IT system administration
- Good knowledge of networking technologies, including Switching, Routing, LAN/WLAN, and VPN (ideally with Cisco solutions)
