Job Summary
The City of Velbert is seeking an IT Security Specialist to join their Central Services department. In this role, you will be instrumental in establishing, operating, and enhancing the organization's information security management system (ISMS), including developing and updating security policies. You will advise various departments on information security matters, contribute to IT projects from a security perspective, and manage security incidents through documentation, analysis, and follow-up. A key part of your responsibilities will also involve planning and conducting security awareness training for employees. Required Skills
Education
Completed IT vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist, IT Technician) with additional qualification in IT Security. Relevant certifications in IT Baseline Protection or security are advantageous.
Experience
- Extensive knowledge in information technology and information security
- Experience in risk management
- Good knowledge of relevant IT security standards and regulations (e.g., BSI, ISO/IEC 2700x, NIS2/KRITIS)

- Driving License Class B. Willingness to work outside regular hours if required (e.g., in crisis situations).
