Job Summary
This role involves specialized material compliance and controlling within the automotive product development sector, focusing heavily on regulatory adherence. The professional will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and approving IMDS (International Material Data System) material data sheets according to internal standards and international laws. Key tasks include analyzing material data for legally and safety-relevant chemical content, presenting results to clients, and managing the procurement of missing material data from the supply chain. Candidates must possess a degree in Chemistry, Material Science, or a related technical field, coupled with strong communication skills and fluency in both German and English. This position offers an extensive onboarding process and the opportunity to work autonomously on diverse projects, serving as a technical consultant to OEMs and suppliers regarding material prohibitions and IMDS support.
Required Skills
Education
Degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Materials Engineering, Vehicle Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Management, or a solid technical education with corresponding professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in materials, ideally within the automotive industry
- Experience with vehicle components and automotive construction highly desirable
- Initial knowledge of legal substance prohibitions (e.g., ELV, POP, TSCA, REACh) desirable
- Initial user knowledge in handling LCA software
