Job Summary
This senior leadership role involves the comprehensive strategic management and operational oversight of SAP applications for the Federal Railway Assets Agency (BEV) in Bonn. The incumbent will be responsible for the overall leadership of the 'SAP Applications Management' division, guiding key functional areas like payroll accounting, financial accounting, and personnel management systems. Key responsibilities include developing and executing an overarching SAP strategy, managing the technical migration to SAP HANA, overseeing cloud integration, and leading critical license negotiations with SAP. The role requires extensive leadership experience in the IT/SAP domain, profound knowledge of SAP system landscapes, and expertise in IT governance and strategic planning. This position offers the opportunity to drive significant IT modernization projects within a federal agency and requires strong leadership, negotiation, and conceptual thinking skills.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Master's, State Examination, or equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a business-related field with an IT focus, or eligibility for the higher technical or non-technical administrative service. SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified in SAP HANA) are desirable.
Experience
- Many years of leadership responsibility in the IT or SAP environment, ideally at management level
- Extensive experience in strategic planning, controlling, and IT governance
- Experience in contract and license negotiations
- Experience in leading complex IT projects
- Experience in cloud-based solutions and current IT trends (desirable)
- Participation in large SAP implementation projects (desirable)
