Job Summary
This role is ideal for an Electronic Engineer passionate about developing high-tech hardware and firmware for advanced electroacoustic devices and systems, primarily focusing on digital underwater communication and submarine sonar technology. Day-to-day responsibilities include the conception and development of complex analog and digital circuits, creating layouts using ECAD tools, and performing hardware-near programming using VisualDSP, C, and Assembler on DSP and microcontroller platforms. The engineer will also be responsible for modeling system architectures in UML, commissioning prototypes, conducting debugging/verification tests, and ensuring reliable, stable implementation for hardened marine and defense systems. This position requires strong organizational skills, a pragmatic approach, and the ability to coordinate complex technical tasks across departments, offering an opportunity to contribute significantly to world-leading sonar products in a traditional yet innovative, start-up-like environment in Kiel.

Education
University degree (Applied Sciences or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in hardware development
- Professional experience in hardware-near programming
- Practical experience with ECAD tools and layout creation
