Job Summary

This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about developing and optimizing high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems. The core responsibilities involve the development and detailed modeling of HVDC plants and their control systems, including advanced voltage-forming concepts (Grid-Forming), primarily utilizing MATLAB/Simulink and PSCAD/EMTDC. You will be responsible for creating detailed HVDC models, applying and advancing simulation environments, and actively participating in crucial grid studies, such as stability analyses and reactive power assessments. Success requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or Mechatronics, coupled with fundamental knowledge in power electronics and control engineering, and proven experience working with large-scale simulation tools in an international project environment.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical and Control Technology, preferably specializing in Energy Technology, Mechatronics, or a comparable qualification

Experience

  • Experience working with PSCAD and MATLAB/Simulink
  • Experience in converter modeling (preferred)
  • Experience in an international environment
  • Professional experience in cooperative collaboration
