This remote position is ideal for an experienced Medical Chemist seeking to drive active substance design strategies within the early drug discovery pipeline for a global pharmaceutical leader. Offering exceptional flexibility, the role allows working remotely from Europe or the USA, requiring only occasional travel to corporate sites. Day-to-day responsibilities include the development and implementation of drug design strategies, optimizing lead structures using SAR/SPR data, and applying computer-aided design methods to accelerate molecular development. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including pharmacology and patent law, interpret complex biological results, and manage international projects by coordinating external partners (CROs). Candidates must possess a strong background in drug research, particularly in cardiovascular, oncology, and immunology fields, coupled with robust project management skills and fluency in English. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree followed by five years of advanced training as a Clinical/Medical Chemist or similar qualification.
Experience
- Five years of advanced training/relevant professional experience in Clinical/Medical Chemistry
- Demonstrable experience in drug research within cardiovascular, oncology, and immunology indication fields
- Professional experience in developing and implementing SAR/SPR strategies and active substance design
- Experience in managing and coordinating external partners (CROs)
