Job Summary

This role is a part-time (50% / 19.75 hours per week), permanent position within the Faculty of Biotechnology at Mannheim University of Applied Sciences. The successful candidate will primarily support practical laboratory courses for both beginner and advanced students, ensuring smooth operations. Key responsibilities include preparing experiments, technically assisting students with their thesis work, managing inventory of consumables, placing new orders, and performing routine maintenance and control of laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate must have a completed qualification as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA) or comparable role, with proven experience in Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Cell Culture (bacteria and mammalian cells), Microscopy, and Microbiology. Strong German and good English language skills are essential, along with a high degree of teamwork and flexibility to accommodate full-day practical sessions.
