Job Summary

The City of Stuttgart is seeking a dedicated Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Specialist to join the Office for Digitization, Organization, and IT (DO.IT). In this critical, permanent role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, operation, and maintenance of the city's PKI. Day-to-day tasks include installing and operating necessary server instances (CA, Sub-CA, CRL, HSM), managing backup and recovery processes, and developing strategies for automated certificate creation and trust management. A key focus is on ensuring robust information security by developing concepts for threat prevention, conducting forensic analysis of security incidents, and resolving technical disturbances. This position requires a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or relevant professional experience, coupled with strong expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and PKI standards, offering a stable and impactful career in municipal IT infrastructure.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable technical qualification; Alternatively, a completed IT-specific vocational training is accepted.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience (required for applicants without a degree)
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory-based PKI (ideal)
