Job Summary
This role involves critical environmental monitoring tasks for the State Operating Company for Environment and Agriculture (BfUL) in Chemnitz. The specialist will primarily conduct water and sediment sampling in surface waters (both standing and flowing) according to DIN standards and SOPs. Daily activities include computer-aided documentation of sampling results using a Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS), performing maintenance and calibration on physico-chemical measuring devices, and ensuring the operational readiness of the sampling vehicle. Key requirements include a completed professional or technical education in a relevant field, secure application of Microsoft Office, and possession of a Class B driver's license with several years of driving experience. This is an exciting, responsible, and permanent part-time position (30 hours/week average, seasonally adjusted) within a committed team, contributing directly to environmental quality monitoring in Saxony.

Education
Completed professional or technical education in Environmental Protection Technology, Waste Management, or a comparable suitable field
Experience
- Professional experience in methods, procedures, and instruments for sampling surface water and sediments (advantageous)
- Experience using Laboratory Information and Management Software/Databases (LIMS) (advantageous)
- Several years of driving experience with a Class B driver's license, preferably in off-road conditions
- Off-road driving experience with all-wheel-drive vehicles up to 3.5 tons (advantageous)
