Job Summary
This position is for a highly motivated PhD Candidate to join the DFG-funded Research Training Group (RTG) 3095, focusing on protective and pathogenic antibody responses at barrier organs. The successful candidate will conduct a four-year doctoral research project (Subproject P08) at the Institute of Nutritional Medicine in Lübeck, specifically investigating the dysregulation of B-cell functions in the pathogenesis of Crohn’s disease (CD). Day-to-day tasks include conducting advanced molecular and cellular biology experiments, utilizing techniques such as flow cytometry, and applying bioinformatics approaches (R/statistical software) to analyze high-throughput datasets like scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics. This role requires a Master's degree in life sciences and an excellent command of English, offering participation in a structured qualification program, access to state-of-the-art technologies, and strong scientific networking opportunities within a dynamic research consortium.
Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in the life sciences or a related discipline, fulfilling formal requirements for doctoral candidature
Experience
- Experience with flow cytometry, and molecular and cellular biology techniques
- Motivation to apply bioinformatics approaches for the analysis of high-throughput datasets
- Experience with R or comparable statistical software is desirable
