Job Summary

This critical, full-time, and permanent role involves working within the Operations and Fault Management team for the Bavarian Digital Radio Network (Digitalfunk BOS Bayern), operating in a flexible shift model. The primary responsibilities include 24/7 monitoring of the network's operational status, coordinating fault resolution, and acting as the first point of contact (First Level Support) for users, including fire departments, rescue services, and police. Candidates must possess a degree (Bachelor/Dipl.-Ing. FH) in Telecommunications, IT, or Rescue Engineering, or a relevant technical vocational qualification (e.g., IT Systems Electronics Specialist). Success in this role requires strong technical interest in digital radio components, excellent German language skills, and the willingness to work in a shift system to ensure uninterrupted radio operations for approximately 500,000 emergency responders across Bavaria.

Required Skills

Education

Completed Bachelor's degree or Diploma Engineer (FH) in Telecommunications, Rescue Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field; OR Completed technical vocational training (e.g., IT Specialist or IT Systems Electronics Specialist), ideally with further training as a state-certified technician.

Experience

  • Professional experience in network management or network operations (Mobile Radio / Digital Radio) (Desired)
  • Experience in fault management or incident management (Desired)
  • Knowledge of the structure and organization of BOS (Authorities and Organizations with Security Tasks) in Bavaria (Desired)

Additional

  • Must be willing to work in a flexible shift model (Schichtdienst). Requires medical fitness for shift work (determined by the Bavarian Police medical officer).
