Job Summary
This role involves providing essential technical and organizational support within academic and research laboratories, focusing heavily on chemical, microbiological, and molecular biological analyses. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and assisting with teaching courses and practical exercises, conducting technical research support (e.g., microbial counts, organism identification, PCR-based methods, and cell culture), and ensuring laboratory safety through maintenance organization and acting as a first responder or fire safety warden. The technician will also manage procurement and inventory, including obtaining quotes, placing orders, and documenting goods receipts. Key qualifications include a completed technical apprenticeship or equivalent schooling in lab technology, practical experience in relevant analytical methods, and strong IT skills with a willingness to embrace laboratory digitalization (LIMS, electronic lab notebooks).
