Job Summary
The City of Barmstedt is seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Department for Steering and Marketing to take on a pivotal leadership role. This position involves strategic oversight of critical municipal functions, including Human Resources, Organizational Development, Digitalization, Internal Process Optimization, City Marketing, and committee support. The successful candidate will also serve as Deputy to the Chief Administrative Officer, managing personnel and organizational development initiatives while actively shaping the city's future. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven leadership skills, deep knowledge of administrative and municipal law, and the ability to motivate staff and manage political committees. It offers an indefinite, full-time contract (39-41 hours/week) with potential for high-level civil service classification (A 13 or E 13 TVöD-VKA), making it an attractive opportunity for an experienced public sector leader.
Required Skills
Education
Qualification for Career Group 2, First Entry Level in General Services; OR a completed scientific university degree in Administrative Sciences, Law, Personnel Management, Psychology, or a comparable field; OR completed vocational training as an Administrative Specialist with Angestelltenprüfung II (Advanced Administrative Examination).
Experience
- Several years of experience in personnel leadership
- Long-term experience in multiple areas of (municipal) administration
- Experience working with political committees, preferably at the municipal level
