Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated PhD Candidate to join the Systems Biology Department at the Institute of Biomedical Genetics (IBMG), University of Stuttgart. The successful candidate will focus on studying TGFbeta-induced cellular decision making in health and disease, utilizing advanced techniques such as kinetic modeling, bioinformatic data analysis, and Artificial Intelligence. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing quantitative models of gene expression to gain mechanistic insights into cancer cell behavior, employing machine learning against quantitative experimental data (e.g., RNAseq, live-cell imaging), and conducting comprehensive data analyses including transcriptomics and functional genomics. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field, coupled with strong programming skills.
