Job Summary
This role involves taking on coordinating and organizational responsibility for the office management, personnel administration, and financial controlling of the DFG-funded SCALE Cluster of Excellence, a leading scientific collaboration focused on subcellular architecture. The successful candidate will independently manage administrative processes, including correspondence, scheduling, event planning, and business travel documentation. A major focus is project-related financial coordination, involving independent budget planning, management, and control of the overall cluster budget, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with DFG and budgetary regulations. Key requirements include a university degree in Economics or a related field, or vocational training in business administration with relevant experience, coupled with sound knowledge of budgeting, accounting, and third-party funding regulations. This position offers the opportunity to support cutting-edge interdisciplinary research in a complex, multi-institutional environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (e.g., Economics, Public Administration, Financial Management) or completed vocational training in business administration or public administration with additional qualifications in finance or accounting.
Experience
- Several years of relevant professional experience (required if only vocational training is held)
- Professional experience in budgeting, accounting, and financial management
- Professional experience with third-party funding and grant regulations
- Professional experience with administrative processes and legal frameworks, ideally within a university setting
- Experience with personnel administration and employment law (e.g., Working Hours Act, Maternity Protection Act)
