PhD Researcher in Radiation Biology | Biologe (m/w/d)
Unknown Employer
Job Summary
This PhD position involves cutting-edge research in radiation biology, focusing on developing innovative radiation protection tools using Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies. The researcher will investigate DNA damage induced by ionizing radiation, characterizing structural chromosomal abnormalities and sequence alterations to potentially develop radiation-specific genomic "signatures." Day-to-day tasks include applying NGS and molecular cytogenetic methods, performing complex bioinformatic evaluation and data integration of structural genomic alterations, and disseminating findings through publications and international conferences. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, or a related field, possesses practical experience with NGS data analysis and/or cytogenetic techniques, and must be fluent in English. This role offers an interdisciplinary setting, state-of-the-art facilities, competitive public sector compensation (65% TV-L), and exciting opportunities for international collaboration, including lab visits to Greece and the USA.
