Job Summary

The Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) is seeking a State Certified Technician in Electrical Engineering or Physics Technology to join the 'IMIS Measurement Networks' division in Freiburg. This role is critical for ensuring safety and environmental protection against radiation damage. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing nuclide-specific measurements using mobile systems in the field, maintaining and inspecting measurement stations within the nationwide Gamma Dose Rate (ODL) network, and conducting comparison measurements. The technician will be responsible for a service area covering Baden-Württemberg, parts of Rhineland-Palatinate, and Hesse, requiring frequent travel as a self-driver with overnight stays. Key requirements include a technical degree, experience with digital data transmission and radio technology, knowledge of electronic data processing, and a willingness to participate in radiological emergency response and exercises. This position offers a responsible, varied, and permanent role within a scientific-technical federal authority.
