Job Summary
This pivotal role as Head of the Grants Office involves strategically shaping and developing the unit at the world-renowned Max-Planck-Institute of Biochemistry, supporting researchers in securing and managing substantial third-party funding, particularly from the European Commission (ERC, MSCA). The successful candidate will oversee the full funding lifecycle, from strategic advice and proposal development to contract management and reporting for a portfolio exceeding €40 million. Responsibilities include advising researchers on funding opportunities, coordinating internal resources, monitoring new regulations, and designing digital workflows for optimized operations. This position requires a PhD in life sciences, at least three years of relevant professional experience in research management, and excellent German and English proficiency, offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to lead a small team within a highly international and competitive scientific environment, ensuring efficient and compliant project execution.
