Job Summary

Join the ETH Student Project House (SPH) as a Fullstack Developer to support student innovation and digital transformation within an inspiring, interdisciplinary environment. This role is crucial for developing and maintaining the digital ecosystem that empowers students to ideate and build prototypes. You will be responsible for the digitalization of SPH processes, optimizing user experience for services like event signups and entrance terminals, and ensuring the accessibility of digital tools. Key tasks include server administration, maintenance, DevOps automation, and website development. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, is proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PHP), and has experience with digital tools like Docker and Unix. Working primarily in English, you will be surrounded by makerspace tools and collaborate directly with student teams, contributing actively to the open-source community and the positive impact of ETH Zurich.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree, ideally in Computer Science, or equivalent knowledge and experience

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience utilizing digital tools including Docker, networking, and Unix/Windows environments.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, or PHP.
  • Professional experience in analyzing, conceptualizing, and successfully executing digital projects.
  • Experience in maintaining, updating, and ensuring accessibility of digital services and infrastructure.

Additional

  • 1-year contract initially, with possibility of prolongation. Required submission of a maximum two-minute introductory video clip detailing a realized digital project, submitted via URL link in the cover letter.
