Job Summary
This role is for an experienced Senior IT Specialist focused on managing and optimizing the data center infrastructure within a major logistics holding company in Cologne. The specialist will be responsible for the administration and optimization of virtualization solutions, specifically VMware (ESXi and vSphere), and the operation and development of Citrix environments for critical applications. Key daily tasks include Windows Server administration, managing and optimizing storage systems (Netapp and Pure), and providing 3rd-level support for complex system failures. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of professional experience in the data center environment, strong technical knowledge in virtualization and storage, and will actively participate in IT projects focused on platform optimization and implementing new technologies. This position offers diverse, future-oriented tasks within a supportive team environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed IT training (e.g., IT Specialist) or equivalent qualification, Prince2 and ITIL certifications are desirable
Experience
- 7-10 years of professional experience in the data center environment
- In-depth knowledge of VMware (ESXi and vSphere) administration
- Experience in managing Citrix environments
- Experience with Windows Server management
- Experience with Storage Systems (preferably Netapp and Pure)
