Job Summary
The Senior Mainframe System Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining and modernizing one of Germany's largest and most complex IT infrastructures, specifically supporting the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). This full-time, permanent position involves ensuring the stable, secure, and efficient operation of z/OS systems within the data center environment. Key responsibilities include implementing and testing software configuration changes, maintaining operational standards, and providing expert consultation and Second-Level Support for z/OS utilization. Successful candidates must possess strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies, including z/OS, IBM Communications Server, and Z System Automation, coupled with proficiency in REXX and JCL. Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed university degree with an IT focus or comparable vocational training (e.g., IT specialist qualification)
Experience
- 2 years of relevant professional experience with an IT-related degree
- 5 years of relevant professional experience with comparable vocational training
- Routine handling of zOS certificate management
- Professional experience in z/OS system operation and implementation
