Job Summary

This role involves joining the ETH Student Project House (SPH) team to shape and develop the new Digital Makerspace. You will act as a Digital Catalyst, inspiring and empowering Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral students by providing the necessary digital expertise, tools, and community support for their innovative projects. Key responsibilities include designing and delivering digital services like webhosting and LLM proxies, managing hardware portfolios (AR/VR, video equipment) and software tools, and developing and conducting technical workshops (e.g., webapp creation). Working in an inspiring, open workspace environment surrounded by prototyping tools at ETH Zurich, you will collaborate with diverse, interdisciplinary teams. The environment is explicitly English-dominant, making it highly attractive for international candidates passionate about open source and fostering the next generation of digital innovators. Candidates should possess a relevant technical degree and proven experience with programming and digital infrastructure tools.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in Computer Science, AI, or Machine Learning, or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Experience

  • Demonstrable professional experience developing and supporting digital projects and tools.
  • Proven proficiency in utilizing digital infrastructure tools such as Docker, networking protocols, and operating systems (Unix/Windows).
  • Experience developing and delivering technical workshops or training sessions on digital topics.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PHP).
