This role is ideal for an experienced Process Engineer passionate about process design and plant optimization within the petrochemical and refinery sectors. The core responsibility involves the comprehensive technical development of process design orders, spanning from initial conceptualization through Basic and Detail Engineering, procurement support, and final commissioning. Day-to-day tasks include performing complex process calculations, simulations using tools like Aspen Plus/HYSYS, and establishing energy and mass balances to ensure reliable system design. You will be instrumental in creating critical technical documentation, including P&IDs, flow diagrams, and equipment data sheets. Furthermore, the role demands active participation in safety analyses, such as HAZOP procedures, ensuring strict compliance with relevant industry norms (DIN, ISO, ATEX). Based in Hamburg, this permanent position requires strong analytical abilities to monitor KPIs and optimize plant performance and energy efficiency, requiring close coordination with project management, construction teams, and external suppliers.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Process Engineering or comparable technical qualification

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in chemical or petrochemical plant construction
  • Demonstrated expertise in process simulation and process engineering methodologies
