The City of Jever is seeking a dedicated and experienced Budget Officer to also lead its Finance Department. This pivotal role involves the autonomous preparation of budget plans, annual accounts, and financial statements for municipal operations, alongside executing the budget and preparing annual financial statements. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing financial equalization, calculating wastewater fees, and overseeing loan management. This position offers a responsible and engaging role within a supportive team environment, emphasizing independent work, strong financial acumen, and excellent communication skills. Required Skills
Education
Successful completion of Angestelltenlehrgang II (Certified Administrative Specialist) or a degree in Public Administration (Dipl.-Verwaltungswirt (FH) / Dipl.-Verwaltungsbetriebswirt (FH) or comparable Bachelor's degree B.A. General Administration / B.A. Administrative Business Administration), OR successful completion of training as a Verwaltungsfachangestellter (Administrative Assistant) or Angestelltenlehrgang I with long-term relevant professional experience. Additional qualification as a municipal accountant is advantageous or willingness to obtain it.
Experience
- Professional experience in municipal administration, particularly in budget, accounting, and taxation areas
- In-depth knowledge of budget law and double-entry financial accounting
