Job Summary
This remote opportunity is for an experienced Medicinal Chemist to drive early drug discovery efforts for a global pharmaceutical and crop protection leader. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and executing active ingredient design strategies, optimizing lead compounds based on SAR/SPR data, ADMET properties, and target selectivity. The role requires applying computational design methods, specifically using or rapidly mastering Schrödinger Live Design, and interpreting biological test results to advance chemical substances. Collaboration with cross-functional teams (Biology, DMPK, Patent Law) and managing external research partners (CROs) are central to the position. Required Skills
Education
University degree followed by a minimum of five years of advanced training as a Clinical or Medicinal Chemist or comparable qualification.
Experience
- At least five years of advanced training as a Clinical or Medicinal Chemist OR comparable qualification
- Several years of relevant professional experience
- Professional experience in drug research, especially in Cardiovascular, Oncology, and Immunology
- Experience in steering and coordinating external partners (CROs)
- Experience with IP analysis and patent searches (Ideal)
