Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity for an engineer to join Deutsche Bahn and undergo a structured 2.5 to 3.5-year qualification program to become a District Manager for Control and Safety Technology (LST). Initially, you will qualify as a Railway Construction Supervisor, followed by training as a District Manager. In the final role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, punctual, and economical rail transport within your assigned district by managing LST infrastructure, such as electronic interlocking systems. Key responsibilities include overseeing the functionality and safety of assets, ensuring maintenance, supervising construction projects, and managing the district's budget and personnel. This position requires a degree in electrical, traffic, or automation engineering, knowledge of electronic control systems, and a strong willingness to take on leadership and budgetary responsibility, offering a clear career path in critical infrastructure management.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor/Master) in Electrical Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Communications Technology, Automation Technology, or a comparable field
Experience
- Successfully completed university degree in Electrical Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Communications Technology, Automation Technology, or a comparable field
- Professional knowledge in electronic control technology and/or control and safety technology
- Familiarity with the service phases of HOAI, VOB, and VOL regulations
- Motivation and willingness to acquire the necessary qualifications for Railway Construction Supervisor (approx. 2-2.5 years) and District Manager (approx. 1 year)
- Readiness to assume leadership responsibility
