Job Summary
This part-time (65%, 25.3 hours/week) Doctoral Researcher position, initially limited to three years, is situated within the Clinic for Gastroenterology, Metabolic Diseases and Internal Intensive Care Medicine. The core focus is translational biomedical research, specifically investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying epithelial integrity and organ injury in the esophagus and lung. The successful candidate will independently develop and advance a PhD project centered on the role of desmoplakin (DSP) in epithelial barrier function, analyzing its contribution to diseases like eosinophilic esophagitis and lung injury. Day-to-day tasks involve studying human tissue samples, utilizing advanced cell culture models (including 3D cultures), performing omics-based approaches (RNA-seq, proteomics), and conducting functional assays. Key requirements include a Master's degree in Life Sciences, a background in molecular biology or immunology, and C1 proficiency in English. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to DSP biology understanding, paving the way for new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
