Job Summary
The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching is seeking a dedicated Engineer in Communications, High-Frequency, or Electrical Engineering to join their international team. This role is crucial for supporting research in ITER Technology & Diagnostics, specifically focusing on the development and operation of neutral particle heating systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include independently designing and planning electrical components for new experiments, particularly high-frequency parts for plasma ignition, and developing automated evaluation routines. The engineer will also modernize electrical systems and measurement setups, ensuring their seamless operation and maintenance. Candidates should possess a Master's degree in a relevant engineering field, strong knowledge of control systems, data acquisition, and processing, alongside proficiency in German and English. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Communications Engineering, High-Frequency Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (University or equivalent), preferably with a focus on High Voltage and High-Frequency Technology.
Experience
- Professional experience in electrical system design and operation
- Experience with high-power electrical supplies (up to 10 kA)
- Experience with high-frequency circuits (up to 200 kW/1 MHz)
- Experience with high-voltage setups (up to 100 kV)
- Experience in a scientific environment (advantageous)
- Experience working in an international team (advantageous)
